And iPhone cinematography isn’t relegated to indie directors — Steven Soderbergh shot his films “Unsane” and “High Flying Bird” on an iPhone and even told IndieWire in 2018 that he would likely keep doing it. “I think this is the future,” he said at Sundance that year. “Anybody going to see this movie who has no idea of the backstory to the production will have no idea this was shot on the phone. “Busan, Asia’s premier film festival, which kicks off Wednesday, has found new ways to innovate. This year’s Wide Angle strand selection music documentary “School Town King,” will be screened simultaneously at the Busan Cinema Centre and the Thai Film Archive’s theater in Bangkok. After the screening, there will be an online Q& with director Wattanapume Laisuwanchai and crew, where they will talk about the film with audiences in the two countries. Similarly, there are plans for simultaneous twin-country screenings of titles from Vietnam, Myanmar and the Philippines as well....
