GENERAL INFORMATION
MISSION:
PAC 8 TV exists to insure fair, equal, and high quality access for all individuals and groups of Los Alamos County to the medium of television.
SCOPE:
PAC 8 TV provides a variety of programming including current events, arts, sports, entertainment, health issues, religious activities, services, education and sports.
The station operates 24 hours a day with regular scheduled programming during the hours of 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on the weekends. Free Speech TV is aired from midnight to 6:00 a.m. on weekdays. Democracy Now! is aired 3 times a day on weekdays. UCTV is aired approximately 40 hours each weekend.
PAC 8 TV is incorporated by the State Corporation Commission of New Mexico as a non-profit organization, effective October 9, 1981. PAC 8 is registered as a 501(c) 3 corporation with the U.S. Bureau of Internal Revenue.
PAC 8 TV holds a contract with Los Alamos County and is authorized to operate under approval and direction of the Los Alamos County Council as prescribed in Chapter XVII, Article I of the Code of the Incorporated County of Los Alamos, New Mexico, dated December 31, 1979, and the Agreement of Operation of Cable Television Access Channel 8, first signed January 14, 1982.
PAC 8 TV exists as a corporation to manage, administer, operate, and promote the public access channel described in Chapter XVII, Section I of the Code. PAC 8 also provides advice to the County Council on matters of policy for public access cable television in Los Alamos County.
