TRI-DISTRICT CONFERENCE 2008
Sept 12 and 13, 2008. Las Cruces, New Mexico.
WELCOME TO THE 2008 TRI-DISTRICT CONFERENCE
By the 2008 Tri-District Conference Chair Larry Underwood
As the Committee Chair for this Conference and on behalf of the three Rotary Clubs in the City of Las Cruces, New Mexico I want to invite and welcome all Rotarians in Districts 4110, 5470 and 5520, to our 2008 annual Tri-District Conference. This is an invitation to combine our charitable efforts and to take advantage Rotary’s matching grant programs. This is your chance to finance some very worthy community projects. In the end we really are our brothers’ keepers. The Tri-District Conference in Las Cruces will be a time and place where Rotarians will act as local community leaders by coming together without seeing any borders and boundaries.
Any endeavor is successful to the degree of planning that precedes the event. Preparation is everything! This website will be a living document we will be using to assist in this preparation. As you send us the description of your project, we will post it here for other attending clubs to study. Coming prepared means making sure that your club is eligible for matching grants. It means you have successfully completed all the required reports for previous matching grants in which you participated, having made contribution to the Foundation Annual Fund during the 2007-2008 year, and determining how much money your club and District has available for projects. The Conference Committee has streamlined the paper work that must follow your funding choices. Look at the Conference Program for the time of the Matching Grant Training Workshop and the 2008 Downloads for the forms to be used at the Conference.
Our Committee invites you and your families to explore this unique area. We have scheduled a trip to the Farm & Ranch Museum where you can see and learn about our pastoral heritage. Look for other area attractions on this web site. Once you have visited our most enchanting City of Las Cruces, I’m sure you will want to come back many times.
